Frequently asked questions

Where is furniture from LIFETIME Kidsrooms produced?

LIFETIME Kidsrooms A / S is based in Denmark. More specifically, the office and factory are located in the town of Sønder Sejerslev near Højer in southwestern Denmark. All our furniture is produced at our Danish factory. Accessories and smaller products are produced - in close collaboration with LIFETIME Kidsrooms - by our Danish subcontractors. Textiles, lamps, chairs, etc. are purchased from selected suppliers in order to offer a complete range for the children's room.

Where does the wood used in the furniture production at LIFETIME Kidsrooms come from?

All our wood comes from selected FSC certified forest plantations in Northern Europe. The wood is supplied from Sweden, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania. There are several reasons for this. Our suppliers are FSC-certified, and all our raw wood comes from controlled forestry. The certification assures us that all our wood comes from sustainable forestry, which we can be proud of.

We give back, and are aware that we must do our part to take care of the climate. That is why we take our responsibility very seriously, and only use wood from forestry with responsible forestry.

The FSC certification ensures that we always give back. For every second tree we use in our production, 3 new trees are planted.

The cold Nordic climate contributes to a slow growth in the wood's structure, where the annual rings in the wood are closer to each other compared to pine from warmer regions. This process gives our wood a very high quality.

Product information

Does a deluxe slatted base fit a bed that is manufactured to use a standard slatted base?

No. It requires that you order new bed sides when the desire is to replace a slatted base from standard to deluxe - or vice versa. Our beds, designed to fit a standard slatted base, have bed sides where the standard slats are screwed in. Beds made for a deluxe slatted base have bed sides with metal fittings that carry the deluxe slatted base.

How high must a mattress be in a LIFETIME Kidsroom bed?

On all bunk beds from LIFETIME Kidsrooms, we have marked the recommended height for mattresses according to the European safety standards for the production of children's furniture.

The marking indicates that the mattress should not be higher than the instruction. The maximum mattress height is indicated on the bed legs of the bunk bed. All mattresses fit in the beds and comply with European safety standards. We recommend that no mattresses exceed a height of 16 cm.

How much weight can a bed carry - and can there be an adult in the bed?

For beds with a standard slatted base, we recommend a maximum weight of 150 kg. For beds with a deluxe slatted base, we recommend that the maximum weight does not exceed 200 kg.

How old do children have to be before they can use LIFETIME Kidsroom products and furniture?

We leave it up to the individual parent to decide when the child is old enough to use children's furniture from LIFETIME Kidsrooms.

We have chosen to produce our beds in accordance with the European safety standard EN 747, where we know that beds with a mattress level from the floor of more than 80 cm must state a recommended minimum age of 6 years.

In standard beds, it is possible to increase safety by adding an extra high bed rail. The bed rail is mounted on the bed's existing bed sides.

Do all parts fit together and can I rebuild the furniture exactly as I want?

All beds from LIFETIME Kidsrooms are produced with a view to being built together. We have developed a modular system that allows you to change the bed without acquiring a brand new bed. You just add a bed rail, drawers, guest beds or stairs and rise when the time is right.

It has always been the intention that our furniture should last throughout childhood. The idea is that you - over time - can find out what needs the child has. Whether it is more storage space or more sleeping space, the possibility of remodeling the furniture is always present.

If you are starting out with a base bed, the fundamentals are in place. From here, the possibilities are many. Rebuild the bed in an infinite number of ways as the baby's needs change.

Sustainability and health

Do you use environmentally and health-friendly varnish in your furniture?

All of our surface treatments for sealing pine are water-based. Water-based surface treatments are suitable for the sanded and untreated wood surfaces and have been tested in accordance with the European Standard EN 73.

Water-based surface treatments are environmentally and health-friendly. It is important to us that you can feel confident that your children are comfortable in a piece of furniture from LIFETIME Kidsrooms. That is why we always use environmentally and health-friendly varnish for surface treatment.

The surface treatment we use at LIFETIME Kidsrooms is therefore not harmful to children or the environment. At the same time, the surface treatment is not harmful when applied, which contributes to a healthy working environment at our Danish factory.

We do not compromise on quality, health or the environment. Our surface treatments effectively seal the wood surface, while our treatments do not harm the environment, indoor climate and health.

Does LIFETIME Kidsrooms produce responsibly and sustainably?

All the electricity we use in our factory and office area in Højer comes 100 percent from wind turbine energy. With certificates from European wind turbines, we achieve a CO2-neutral electricity consumption and supports the conversion of renewable energy.

Our entire factory and office area is heated by residual material from the furniture production. We only use surplus wood to heat our headquarters in Højer. It is important to us that nothing is wasted in production.
